Dr. Hussein

Dr. Usama Hussein completed his Nephrology and Transplantation training at St. Raphael–Yale School of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic. He currently serves as President of Nephrology Associates of Tidewater (December 2024–present) and is Director of Home Dialysis Programs, with a focus on advancing peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis.

Dr. Hussein is recognized for developing innovative home dialysis initiatives, including Centers of Excellence and mobile training programs to expand access to care. He is also a member of the group’s Glomerulonephritis (GN) expert team. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and an active member of the kidney and pancreas transplant program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He practices primarily in Virginia Beach.
