Dr. Bichu

Dr. Prasad Bichu completed his residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and his fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri for four years, where he was actively involved in teaching, research, and delivering high-quality care to both adult and pediatric patients, including those in rural communities.

Dr. Bichu has contributed to the field of nephrology through numerous publications, with over ten articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 100 citations, along with multiple podium and poster presentations. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

He has been practicing in the Hampton Roads area for the past 10 years and is committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality, patient-centered care. Dr. Bichu takes pride in thoroughly researching and tailoring the best treatment options for each patient.

Dr. Bichu practices out of the Fort Norfolk office. His primary hospital is Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he also holds a faculty position as Assistant Professor of Medicine with EVMS. He is also affiliated with Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, where he serves as Chair of the Pharmacy and Nutrition (PNT) Committee and is an active member of the Bon Secours Mercy Health Enterprise PNT Committee.

He has been recognized as a Virginia Top Doctor for 2025 and 2026.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Bichu enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and classical piano.
