Dr. Gakhokidze

Dr. Levan Gakhokidze joined Nephrology Associates of Tidewater in 2025 after completing his Internal Medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School and his Nephrology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. His clinical interests include kidney transplantation, glomerular diseases, and electrolyte disorders. He is passionate about medical education and enjoys working closely with students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Gakhokidze believes an individualized approach to patient care is key to achieving the best outcomes.

He sees patients at our Portsmouth office and cares for patients at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, as well as at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. 

 Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, listening to music, and spending time with his family.
